Feels good,

No jitters. No crash. No chemicals. Just focused, all-day, feel-good energy. We didn't know if it was possible but we found the answer: caffeine from organic green tea, delivered with carbs and protein for prolonged caffeine absorption.

tastes good,

It took us 127 recipes, but we got it: a powerful energy boost that actually tastes good. Cocoa, oats, almond butter, agave, vanilla... it's chewy, chocolatey, and just the right amount of sweet.

Frequently Asked
Questions

Bars & Nutrition

  • Why do you use caffeine from green tea in Verb Bars?

We tested every caffeine source under the sun when we were developing our recipe. Green tea was the best in every way. It contains an amino-acid called L-Theanine which fights jitters and keeps you focused, adds no taste, could be sourced cleanly and responsibly, and is absorbed over a longer period of time (no spike, no crash) than caffeine from other sources. We repeatedly hear from (former) coffee drinkers that switched because they feel more focused for longer with Verb.

  • How much caffeine is in a Verb Bar?

Each Verb Bar has 100mg of caffeine, about the same amount as a cup of coffee. The FDA recommends up to 400mg of caffeine per day for adults (caffeine is not recommended for children or for women who are pregnant or nursing).

  • What else is in a Verb Bar? Where can I see the nutrition facts?

Verb Bars have 8 natural, non-gmo, gluten-free, vegan ingredients: rolled oats, almond butter, organic puffed brown rice, organic agave nectar, organic unsweetened cocoa powder, vanilla extract, organic brown sugar, and caffeine from organic green tea. Verb Bars are made in a certified gluten-free facility. Each bar contains 190 calories, 100mg of caffeine, 5g of protein, and 12g of sugar. For more details, see our full nutrition facts.

The Company

  • How did Verb start? Where did the idea come from?

The idea for better energy was born one fall afternoon in 2015 while we were all students in college. Matt was studying for an exam and took a break to run to a coffee shop. As he was walking back to the library he realized what it had cost him. He had lost 25 minutes of productivity and had spent $6 on a coffee and a granola bar, neither of which fully delivered on what he needed: even, long-lasting, focused energy. Over the next few weeks he tried to find a more convenient energy solution, but everywhere he looked he only found bad-tasting drinks with artificial ingredients, preservatives, unhealthy amounts of sugar, and negligible nutritional value. He recruited Bennett, André, and Isaac to the team, and together they started experimenting with healthier energy options for themselves and their friends.

Good energy brought us together

In the beginning we were just four college students who believed in an idea for a better energy source. We stayed up until 4am to make bars in the rented kitchen of a local bakery and ran out of lectures to hand deliver them to classmates. It took countless late nights and more than 100 recipes to finally make something worth sharing with people, but the smiles, hugs, and thank-yous made it all worth it. We discovered the power of good energy, and we never looked back.
